Immerse Your Clients in Wellness-by Jackie Roby

Are your clients ready to be fully immersed in wellness? Previously known as “Destination Spa”, a Wellness Immersion is an “experience designed to create space to reconnect to one’s mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual wholeness”. Recently redefined by the Global Wellness Institute, it intentionally separates travelers from their daily routines to initiate transformation and create the habits that can be implemented at home.

What does that mean? It is a trusted space dedicated to the mind, body, and soul where the food choices are healthy, the activities support mindful movement, and guests leave brighter than when they arrived. Wellness Immersions are often designed by visionaries who specialize & support certain modalities like Ayurveda, detoxing, fitness, Thalasso Therapy, or silent retreats.

Clients interested in highly targeted goals such as detox, trauma recovery, stress reduction, pain management, or weight loss would benefit from Wellness Immersions. Though keep in mind these goals are not necessary to thoroughly enjoy the experience.

When searching for authentic wellness, look for three things: nutritious food choices (not just one or two options), physical activities, and mental wellness (reconnecting with nature, meditation, spiritual guidance, life coaching, etc.).

To find the experience best suited for your clients, be sure to ask the following questions.

  • Do you prefer group activities or private lessons?
  • How do you want to feel on this holiday and when you return?
  • Are three activities a day the right amount? Too little? Too much?
  • How much free time is important to you?
  • Do you prefer a scheduled itinerary or a more casual one?
  • Are spa treatments a priority?

This will help to select the right property and assist with itinerary recommendations. As you get closer to planning, an expert at the resort or wellness center will be available to design the specifics to meet your client’s goals. As their trusted travel advisor, understanding the options is a significant value. Here are a few examples of a day immersed in wellness beginning at 8 a.m.

Day One

  • Meditation
  • Breakfast
  • Hiking
  • Lunch
  • Yoga
  • Spa Treatment
  • Dinner

Day Two

  • Morning run
  • Breakfast
  • Archery
  • Lunch
  • High ropes class
  • Mindfulness lecture
  • Dinner

Day Three

  • Pilates
  • Breakfast
  • Spa Treatment
  • Lunch
  • Spa Treatment

While quite different, all will restore energy and vitality. A client returning from a Wellness Immersion will feel rejuvenated, joyful, and ready to take on the world. And will likely want to start planning their next wellness trip as soon as possible.
